Venturing Crew 42
On Sunday, November 15, Pack 42 puts on The Family 42 Show, and we're asking Venturing Crew 42 to help run the floor. The Cub Scouts look up to you.
The Family 42 Show gives every Cub Scout in Pack 42 a supportive, low-pressure way to share something they love, and a little of who they are, with the whole pack.
Lead by example. For a Cub Scout, a Venturer running check-in or calling the cues is the far end of the same trail. That's how the crew supports the Cubs: come be the older brothers and sisters in Scouting they can look up to.
Help run the floor
3 to 4 Venturers, organized by the crew's President, alongside adult leaders. The room is ours from 1:00 PM for setup and until 5:00 PM for cleanup; we'll confirm times with you and your Advisor before the day.
- Check-in and staging Greet the acts, check them in, keep the on-deck flow moving.
- Music and tech One event device with every act's music preloaded; play the cues.
- Timing Hold the visible timer and the 30-second warning card.
Also welcome
- An act of your own, solo or with the crew, 2 to 3 minutes; a crew act goes in as a group act under the crew's name.
- A square for the Family 42 quilt, first name at most: a square station is set up on the day, so come early and add yours.
Three things we'd love from Crew 42
Polite approval isn't the ask. These three are.
- RSVP at family42.com, pick Venturing Crew 42 as your unit, and tick the job box.
- 3 to 4 Venturers for the floor jobs. President, that's yours to organize, with your Advisor in the loop.
- Helping at the Show is service. Check with your Advisor whether it counts toward a Venturing award.
For the crew meeting
On Sunday, November 15, Pack 42 puts on The Family 42 Show, 2:00 to 4:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Wollaston. They've asked us to help run the floor: check-in, music, and timing, alongside adult leaders. Sign up at family42.com and pick Venturing Crew 42; if you're under 18, a parent, guardian, or crew leader signs you up.
The sign-up asks for the Venturer's first name only, plus the unit, and it goes to one mailbox.
